Composer – Composer

Composer is not an acronym, but rather the name itself for a key tool in the PHP ecosystem. It is a dependency manager for PHP, which allows you to easily declare, install, and update libraries (packages) that your PHP project depends on. Instead of manually downloading and managing external components, Composer automates the entire process, downloading them from the central repository Packagist.org and storing them locally in the vendor folder within your project.

In the context of IT and server administration, Composer is absolutely indispensable for deploying modern PHP applications, such as frameworks Laravel, Symfony, or some advanced plugins and extensions for CMS. When deploying a project to a server, simply run the composer install command, and Composer will take care of downloading all necessary dependencies in the correct versions, thereby ensuring the functionality and consistency of the application across development and production environments. It thus simplifies CI/CD processes and minimizes errors during project installation.
