CPU – Central Processing Unit

The acronym CPU comes from the English Central Processing Unit, which literally means "central processing unit". It is a key hardware component that functions as the "brain" of every computer, including servers. Its main task is to execute program instructions, perform arithmetic and logical operations, and manage the flow of data between other system components.

In the context of server management, CPU performance is absolutely crucial. It affects the speed at which a server can process requests – whether for websites, database queries, applications, or virtual machines. Modern CPUs often have multiple cores (cores), which allows for parallel task processing and increases the server's overall throughput. Proper selection and monitoring of the CPU are crucial for ensuring the stability and responsiveness of server services.
